Mr. Tanaka served as Presiding Judge of the District Court in Tokyo and Yokohama from 2000 to 2004, as President of the District Court in Matsuyama and Nagano from 2005 to 2006, and as Presiding Judge of the Intellectual Property High Court in Tokyo from 2007 to 2009. He also worked as a counselor of the Litigation Bureau, Ministry of Justice in 1989, and as a counselor of the Minister’s Secretariat in 1998.
