In order to appropriately protect a company’s own intellectual property, a basic knowledge of intellectual property is indispensable. It is essential that this knowledge not just be acquired by those within the intellectual property department, but that it should span across the entire company to include everyone from those involved in sales and R&D through to management.

1. Intellectual property courses and seminars

Basic level:
The content of these courses and seminars are designed for acquisition of fundamental knowledge in respect of intellectual property. These are the only courses which introduce the basics concerning intellectual property law and surrounding concepts.


Introductory level:
The content of these courses and seminars is designed to inform and educate your company’s engineers. They allow for your engineers to gain an understanding of the importance of intellectual property, and also provide a forum for engineers to discuss inventions.


Applied level:
The content of these courses and seminars, having a greater level of abstraction, encourages wider application. For example, we introduce TRIZ, which is a methodology that provides hints for solving problems inherent in technologies, supports decision making based upon future trends in development. At the same time, we also introduce patent strategies that use a variety of management methods which are utilized in management consulting.


Business level:
The content of these courses and seminars focuses on intellectual property risk management which is an area that traditionally tends to be neglected. It enables a full understanding of what precautions should be taken at what point.


The content of each seminar or course is as shown in the course list. However, it can be fully customized to suit both the needs and characteristics of your company. 2. HIRAKI Seminar
